ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A call to police for a reported disturbance in an Orange County trailer park quickly escalated into a police standoff Monday evening.

At around 4:30 p.m. deputies were called for a reported disturbance between a man and a woman.

When deputies arrived, a second man got inside a dump truck and parked it between officers and the scene, blocking backup from getting in.

This led to a SWAT standoff which had the park on lockdown according to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, SWAT and Vidor Police completely surrounded the neighborhood.

The man then got out and ran before brandishing a weapon in front of one of the deputies during a foot chase according to Orange County Sheriff's Office Captain Joey Jacobs.

Jacobs says that officers attempted to set up a perimeter but the man successfully evaded them and got away.

Police are scaling back searching for the man while they secure a warrant for his arrest for aggravated assault against a public servant according to Jacobs.

Jacobs says that no one was hurt during the standoff and no shots were fired, but they do not know if the man is still armed.

The woman from the initial dispute was arrested for family violence while the man was not taken into custody.
