Lamar University under a shelter in place after reported robbery at Subway

BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University students were sent an alert to shelter in place after a robbery at the Subway on campus.

The alert was sent out around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Beaumont Police are at the scene, according to BPD PIO Carol Riley.

Another alert was sent out at 10:09 with a description of the suspect. The alert says that it is a man wearing a blue shirt over a gray hoodie.

The employees of the Subway were able to escape from the back, Riley told 12News.

Nothing has been reported as taken, according to Riley.
