A Hardin County jury has sentenced a Kountze man to death for the 2011 murder of a 4-year-old girl.
Jason Wade Delacerda was found guilty Friday in the death of his girlfriend's daughter Breonna Nichol Loftin.
The jury began deliberating just after 11 a.m. Tuesday following the punishment phase for Delacerda.
It took the jury less than three hours of deliberation to find him guilty of capital murder in the death of the 4-year-old girl who had broken bones, bruises and burns when she died in 2011.
Delacerda and the victim’s mother, Amanda Nichole Guidry, were both charged in Breonna's death. Both were arrested in 2011 after an emergency room doctor determined Breonna had burns, bruises and signs of other abuse.
Testimony in Delacerda’s trial began last Tuesday before Judge Steven Thomas.
