Standoff at Stuckey's in west Jefferson County ends after deputies arrest man

The Chambers County Sheriff's office notified Jefferson County that a man with two felony warrants had a cell phone that was pinging behind Stuckey's

BEAUMONT, Texas — Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested a man who sat in the Stuckey's parking lot for hours with a gun to his head.

Deputies responded to the standoff situation at the convenience store in Beaumont Monday afternoon.

A little before 3 p.m. the Chambers County Sheriff's Office notified Jefferson County that a man with two felony warrants had a cell phone that was pinging behind a Stuckey's on I-10 at Highway 365.

Jefferson County deputies went to Stuckey's and found the man who was armed. The man held the gun to his head, then barricaded himself inside in his vehicle in the parking lot, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Right now, deputies are trying to talk the man out. Chief Donta Miller with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tells 12News that the man is only a danger to himself.
