BEAUMONT, Texas — A Houston woman familiar to deputies from a previous incident has been arrested along the interstate in Jefferson County for money laundering and drug possession.

On Monday, 05/07/2019 at 5:52 p.m. the Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force along with the Criminal Interdiction Team conducted an operation on IH-10 near SH 365.
A white Chevrolet Malibu car was observed displaying several traffic violations. Uniformed Deputy’s stopped the vehicle at which time they recognized the female driver from a previous stop transporting a large amount of currency and drugs. A JCSO K9 unit was called to the scene and displayed a positive narcotics response on the vehicle.
Upon searching the car, marijuana was discovered along with $11,083.00 in assorted US Currency. The driver was identified as 39 year old Iesha Swafford of Houston. Stafford was arrested for Possession of marijuana as well as Money Laundering and booked in at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. The marijuana and cash were seized.
