NEDERLAND — Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man and woman on drug charges Thursday evening after deputies observed them selling drugs from a car.
Tyler Blaine Womack and Nalah Felish Castillo were both arrested and charged with drug possession after deputies stopped their car for a traffic violation according to a release fro the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force were observed drugs being sold from Chrysler 300 Thursday evening at about 5:30 p.m.and called called in other deputies to assist in pulling the car over according to the release.
When the car was stopped near Helena Avenue and North Twin City Highway deputies spoke individually to the passenger and driver.
The deputy speaking to the female passenger, Nalah Felish Castillo, noticed that she appeared very nervous and asked her if she had anything illegal with her the release said.
Castillo then removed a coin purse from her pants and gave it to the deputy who discovered that it contained three baggies containing white powder that later tested positive as cocaine according to the release.
A total of 10 grams of cocaine was discovered in the coin purse.
Deputies then searched the car and found 4.5 ounces of hydro marijuana in the trunk of the car.
Castillo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and the driver, Tyler Blaine Womack, was arrested for possession of marijuana the release said.
Both Castillo and Womack were booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on the charges.
