HARDIN COUNTY, Texas — A concerned neighbor became the victim of a robbery Tuesday when he went to check on his neighbor’s home while they were out of town and walked in on a burglary.
The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of Maple Road in Saratoga. A Hardin County man went to check on his neighbor’s house when he walked in on two men stealing items from the home, Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis told 12News.
Sheriff Davis said the suspects took the Hardin County man's cell phone, cash and car keys before leaving in a black Dodge Charger. While the suspects did take the victim's keys, they did not take his vehicle.
The suspects also took some property from the house. They were last seen going south out of Batson on FM 770, according to Sheriff Davis.
The suspects are described as being around 180-200 lbs. One of them has facial tattoos.
The sheriff’s office is asking for anyone in the area to check their security cameras to see if they caught the suspects or their vehicle on film. Anyone with information that could lead to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
