Beaumont Police said in a news release Rodriguez was taken to St. Elizabeth and later died.

The shooting happened underneath the Eastex Freeway overpass at Dowlen Road.

Police said the incident stemmed from a disturbance inside Cicis Pizza, and it carried into the parking lot.

According to a probable cause affidavit, witnesses told investigators there was a disturbance between Rodriguez and a man inside Cicis Pizza.

Witnesses said the four suspects were seen getting into a black Ford Fusion.

The documents say Taylor Jones' name was given to investigators as one of the customers inside the restaurant, and police left messages with her relatives on Monday, August 19.

The affidavit says Jones went to Beaumont Police Department later that evening and gave a voluntary statement, admitting to being in the car when shots were fired from inside it.

The documents claim Jones told police Parrish was driving the car, while she rode in the passenger seat. Jones said Mayfield sat in the rear passenger seat, and Pettway sat behind the driver's seat according to the affidavit.

Jones told police she didn't report what happened because she was afraid according to the documents.
