PLANO, Texas -- A jury sentenced a former Plano firefighter to 60 years after three individuals came forward with claims they were sexually assault by Larry Combest as children.

Combest, of McKinney, was found guilty on three counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of indecency with a child by contact.

An investigation into the assaults began when two children came forward about the abuse, read a statement from the Collin County District Attorney's Office. As the probe began, an adult also came forward to his sibling to disclose he too was abused by Combest as a child. The victim said the assaults began in 2002 when he was 11 and continued until he was 14.

Authorities charged Combest in connection to the case. Authorities said the two young children were among witnesses who spoke during the sentencing phase of the trial.

Combest was sentenced to 60 years for aggravated assault of a child and 20 years for each county of indecency with a child. The sentences will run concurrently.
