BEAUMONT, Texas — A 27-year-old man is in custody after leading police on a high-speed chase from Nederland to Port Arthur late Thursday night.
The chase began in Nederland in the 500 block of South Twin City Highway just after 10 p.m. Thursday night when Nederland officers tried to make a traffic stop according to Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter.
Mario Alfredo Cabrera, 27, was arrested after the chase on charges of evading in a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance according to Porter.
Officers from the Port Artur Police Department joined the chase when it moved into Port Arthur Porter said.
The chase ended in the 2800 block of 25th St in Port Arthur where Cabrera was taken into custody.
