ORANGE, Texas — Deputies in Orange County have identified more than one "person of interest" as they investigate the death of a woman found north of Orange a month ago.
The body of Casie Lynn Graves, 38, was found Saturday, September 16, 2023, near the International Paper facility on North Highway 87 north of Orange according to the Orange County Sheriff's office.
Investigators have received a "high volume" of tips via Crime Stoppers and are making "great headway" in the case according to Lt. James Blankenship of the sheriff's office.
Her body was found at about 5:20 p.m. that Saturday near the train tracks close to the south truck entrance of International Paper according to Captain Joey Jacobs of the Orange Sheriff's Department.
Deputies have identified more than one person of interest in the case based on the Crime Stoppers tips though they have not released any names yet.
"This is a fluid investigation, we are making pretty good strides every day,” he said.
Graves leaves behind four young daughters, the two youngest are under 6-years-old. They are forced to grow up without their mother.
"I feel empty, I don't have any closure, I'm just lost, and broken, and sad. And I don't know where I go from here," said Vickie Graves, her mother.
Vickie Graves heart is in pieces as she mourns the loss of her daughter.
"She's a great daughter, she has a very big heart. I thank God, that I got to see her Thursday," Vickie Graves said.
