Crook Cam: thief jumps counter, steals money from Dollar General cash register

BEAUMONT — Beaumont police are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed a Dollar General store.

The suspect jumped across the counter while the register was open and grabbed cash. He then ran out of the door.

Police say it happened around 5 p.m. on April 13th.

The suspect is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, in his mid 30s to early 40s with a shaved head. He was wearing a black shirt with a pattern and jean shorts.

Police believe he lives around Magnolia Street and IH-10.

This week, the Beaumont Police Department is asking for your help in identifying the suspect in a till tap theft at the Dollar General store at 2210 Gulf St. On Friday, April 13, 2018 at a little before 5 pm, a b/m entered the store and walked around, appearing to get in the checkout line. As soon as the customers ahead of him cleared out, he suddenly jumped across the counter while the register was still open, and grabbed the cash out of the register. He ran out the door and rode away on a bicycle toward the southeast. He is described as being about 5'10" tall, medium build with a broad chest, mid 30's to early 40's in age, with a shaved head. He was wearing a black shirt with a pattern on the front and blue jean shorts. He may live in or frequent the area around Magnolia and IH 10.
