Police chase in Orange ends when felon jumps from second story, breaking leg

ORANGE, Texas — A chase in Orange ended with the suspect jumping from a window and breaking his leg.

On Monday, June 10 an Orange police officer saw a man on a bicycle and recognized him. The officer knew that the man had an active felony warrant for his arrest, according to a news release from the Orange Police Department.

The officer turned on his lights and tried to stop the man. But he did not stop and continued to ride away on his bike.

He then went into an apartment complex on foot with the officer following him into the building, according to the release.

The man went to the second floor of the apartment building and officers lost sight of him.

He was later found on the first floor of apartment building, and police discovered that he had jumped from the second floor and injured his leg, the release states.

He was not arrested due to the injury of his leg.
