BEAUMONT, Texas — A 19-year-old woman led Lumberton Police on a chase Monday afternoon through two cities after police say she was caught trying to cash stolen checks.
It all started Monday at about 2 p.m. when tellers at the DuGood Credit Union on North Main called Lumberton Police saying a woman was in the drive through trying to cash a fraudulent check according to Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins.
Haley Cheyenne Decker, 19, was arrested when the chase ended after she struck Sullins' patrol car he told 12News.
Decker is being held in the Hardin County Jail on charges of forgery with a financial instrument, evading arrest, fraudulent use & possession of an ID as well as possession of less than two ounces of marijuana according to jail records.
Her bond is currently set at $42,000.
When police arrived at the drive-through she took off leading them on a high speed chase from Lumberton into Beaumont and then to Sour Lake according to Sullins.
Sour Lake Police attempted to spike her tires but she went around them and not long after ran into Sulllins' Lumberton Police vehicle. Neither she or Sullins was injured in the wreck.
