Cameras catch thieves stealing trailer of supplies from a Beaumont West End teen's lawncare business

Joaquin Devarona has owned and operated his own lawncare business, All-4-U Lawn and Landscaping, for the past four years.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Cameras caught the moment a Beaumont teen's lawn car business supplies were stolen from in front of his family's home.

Joaquin Devarona has owned and operated his own lawncare business, All-4-U Lawn and Landscaping, for the past four years.

This young entrepreneur and his family want to know who would steal all of this equipment, totaling almost $17,000, from the young man, and why.

Early Saturday morning, cameras caught thieves in Beaumont's West End stealing a Devarona's trailer full of lawn care supplies and making a getaway.

HELP | A GoFundMe has been started to help replace the stolen equipment

A Ring doorbell video from a few houses down shows a dark-colored pickup hauling away the stolen trailer and what appears to be an SUV following behind.

Devarona had used his own money to buy all of his own supplies.

"It does make me sick that, you know, I worked four years for it, and it got taken in 30 minutes," said Devarona.

The thieves had cut the lock and left evidence behind, according to the family.

"We know that it's stolen. We found pieces of the lock that had been cut that was still laying on the ground. They had to physically pick the trailer up and move it by hand, and the back end of the trailer dug into the property," said Devarona's mother, Stephanie Smith.

"It was my mower, my blower, my two weed-eaters, my hedger, gas cans, straps, bungee cords...just all those kind of things add up," Devarona said.

He started the business when he was just 11 years old.

"The progression and seeing how far I've come and how much I've done just being 16-years-old, I think it's just crazy. What's the point of stopping?" he said.

His mother and the community have supported him every step of the way.

"They see how hard he works, they see how dedicated he is, if he says he's gonna be there to do something, he's there...and so, I'm incredibly proud," Smith said.

All she wants is for whoever stole her son's livelihood, to return the items.

"Shame on you. Shame on you... you stole from a kid. A kid that has worked really, really hard to build himself a business. Shame on you," said Smith.

Despite setbacks Devarona tells 12News, he's ready to get his business back on track regardless of what was taken.

"I've come to peace with it. I don't want it to let me get so angry that I lose focus on the real vision of my business, because that's not the right way to go about it," he said.

Smith has organized a GOFUNDME to replace the lost equipment.
