BEAUMONT, Texas — What an employee at a Vidor tow yard thought was a body in a car trunkWednesday morning was actually a mannequin.
Vidor Police were called at about 11 a.m. Monday and told that the body of a woman may have been found in the trunk of a car that had been towed to the Ray's Wrecker Service tow yard at 21004 Interstate 10 according to Police.
While inventorying a car that had been abandoned on private property an employee at the tow yard saw what he thought was a human leg and human hair beneath several pillows and blankets according to a news release from the Vidor Police Department.
He then called police.
Vidor Police got a search warrant to look into the car and found what was thought to have been a woman's body was actually a mannequin police said.
Police did not say where the car had been towed from but not long after police were called about the potential body several Vidor officers and the police chief were seen in the parking lot of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 890 South Main St.
