BEAUMONT — A West Brook High School student was arrested after an unloaded gun was found in a car at the school Wednesday.
A district spokesperson confirmed to 12News that a student on the campus at West Brook was arrested following the discovery.
Administrators received a tip that there may be a gun on the campus and immediately contacted the district's police deportment according to a release from the Beaumont Independent School District.
The unloaded weapon was found in a vehicle at the campus and the student was arrested according to a district spokesperson.
The district notified parents via a "Blackboard" phone message and tell 12News that all safety protocols were followed to protect students.
