Beaumont prison employee behind bars after having illegal relations with inmate

She is being charged with a second degree felony punishable from two to 20 years in prison.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont prison employee is now behind bars after having illegal relations with an inmate. 

Marion Denise Jennische, 53, an employee at the Stiles Unit, was arrested for violations of the civil rights of a person in custody.

Jennische was arrested yesterday after she was confronted with video evidence, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by 12News.

She refused to give a statement to an investigator before she was arrested.

Jail records show Jennische is being held in the Jefferson County jail on a $10,000 bond as of 11 a.m.

She is being charged with a second degree felony which is punishable from two to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.    

12News reached out to TDCJ for a statement: 

"I can confirm that Marion Jennische was arrested yesterday at the Stiles Unit and charged with violation of a civil rights of a person in custody.  She was arrested by the Office of Inspector General for an inappropriate relationship with an inmate. It is still under investigation at this time."
