BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are looking for a man they say stole thousands of dollars worth of tools from a Beaumont hardware store last week.
The man has been identified thanks to people on Facebook, according to BPD.
Police say that on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at about 7 p.m., a man walked into the Lowe's on Dowlen in Beaumont and loaded up about $3,000 worth of tools into a shopping cart before quickly pushing the cart out of a fire exit.
They say he then threw the stolen tools into a white Honda CRV and sped away.
The man, who was caught on surveillance video, was dressed in a black Nike hoodie and a black beanie.
If you know where he is contact Beaumont Police at (409) 832-1234.
Police believe the same man used the same white Honda CRV in a similar crime at the Lowe's in Port Arthur on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, in which he also stole tools.
The crime is classed as a state jail felony according to police.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
