Beaumont armed gas station robber caught in Baton Rouge, police say

He is currently being held in the East baton Rouge Parish Jail on an armed robbery charge

BEAUMONT, Texas — A man Police say robbed a Beaumont gas station at gunpoint Thursday morning has been arrested in Baton Rouge.

Kevin Lawson, 24, of Louisiana, was arrested in Baton Rouge on Thursday following three separate robberies there according to a Beaumont Police Department news release.

Lawson is currently being held in the East baton Rouge Parish Jail on an armed robbery charge and his bond has not yet been set according to jail records.

Officers received a robbery in progress call and were sent to the Shell Fastlane gas station at 3875 IH-10 South at about 6 a.m. Thursday morning, Nov. 16, 2023, according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.

The gas station is along Interstate 10 on the south side of the highway near the Waffle House just east of Walden Rd.

Police say Lawson, who was photographed by security cameras, walked into the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk, threatened to kill her and demanded money according to police.

After robbing the gas station he left in a dark grey four-door Nissan sedan according to police.
