BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police released photos of a man who successfully evaded officers after he held an individual at gunpoint and stole his vehicle early Thursday morning.
The aggravated robbery took place at 2:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Wyatt St.
Officers located the suspect in possession of the stolen vehicle around 4 a.m. at a gas station on Concord Rd. and Delaware St.
The suspect led officers on a pursuit that started on Delaware St. and ended at a dead end on Jeanette St., according to police.
He got out the vehicle and ran on foot. During the foot pursuit, the suspect was able to successfully evade officers.
Police say that the suspect was able to get away due to "the high rate of speed, coupled with the improved mobility of the track-suit" he was wearing.
