Beaumont police investigating after a teenager was shot on Jirou Street

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy had been shot and was later taken by ambulance to Saint Elizabeth Hospital.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are investigating a shooting on the 2800 block of Jirou Street Saturday afternoon that left a teenager injured.

Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a call about the shooting at around 5:00 p.m. about a shooting.

When officers arrived they found a 14-year-old boy had been shot who was later taken by ambulance to Saint Elizabeth Hospital.

The condition of the teen is not yet known.

The Beaumont Police Department says that they are in the very early stages of the investigation and have spoken with other teens at the scene.

The victim may have been accidentally shot by another 16-year-old boy according to officer Carol Riley.
