Beaumont Police capture teen robbery suspect after months on the run

The Special Assignment Unit successfully tracked and apprehended 18-year-old Malachi Harris utilizing intelligence-led policing according to BPD.

BEAUMONT, Texas — After moths of exhaustive searching the Beaumont Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit (SAU) was finally able to apprehend a wanted fugitive.

The Special Assignment Unit successfully tracked and apprehended 18-year-old Malachi Harris utilizing intelligence-led policing according to the Beaumont Police Department.

The Beaumont teen was reportedly wanted aggravated robbery and had evaded police for several months after fleeing the city.

"Through continuous investigation and advanced policing techniques, SAU officers were able to determine Harris's whereabouts in Dickinson, Texas," said Beaumont Police Department in a press release.  "Thanks to the collaboration and partnership with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force–Galveston, Harris was taken into custody without incident."
