Beaumont Police asking for public's help to identify two people in connection to Tuesday murder

They would like to speak to two people in reference to the homicide of Rogers on June 4 in the 4000 block of Oak Grove.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are asking for the public's help to identify two people in connection with the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old Beaumont man found in a car late Tuesday night in the north end of the city.

Police identified the man who was killed as Joshua Rogers, 34, of Beaumont. 

They would like to speak to the two people pictured in reference to the homicide of Rogers on June 4 in the 4000 block of Oak Grove.

Detectives previously spoke to a 19-year-old man about the shooting death of Rogers.

Officers were sent to investigate a suspicious car just before 10:15 p.m. Tuesday night, according to a news release from Beaumont Police.

The neighborhood is just east of U.S. Highway 69 near the intersection of U.S. 69 and East Lucas Dr.

While officers were on their way, they were told that there may have been a wreck and that the driver was unresponsive, police said.

When they arrived, officers tried to help Rogers, but when EMS medics got there they pronounced the him dead. Then it was found that Rogers had been shot, according to police.

Detectives arrived and talked to residents in the area of Oak Grove Pl and Haden Rd Tuesday night.

Police are asking that residents in the area check their surveillance cameras for anything suspicious and contact police at 409-832-1234 if they find anything.
