BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man is behind bars for a murder warrant connected with a Saturday morning shooting death in the city, according to a release from the Beaumont Police Department.
Around 4:30 a.m. officers received a report about a person shot at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Smart Street in Beaumont.
When they arrived, officers found the body of Darian Kaimen Banks, 25, of Beaumont. He was shot multiple times, police say.
A murder warrant was issued for Gregory Joseph Ager, 28, of Beaumont, after police found Banks’ body.
Detectives were eventually able to contact Ager. He agreed to meet them at the police department.
After speaking with investigators, Ager was arrested for the murder warrant and taken to Jefferson County Correctional Facility. He’s held on a $1,500,000 bond.

On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 4:32 AM, Officers responded to an apartment in the 2500 block of Smart St in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival Officers located a man who had been shot multiple times and was deceased. The victim was identified as Darian Kaimen Banks, a 25 year old Beaumont man.
Beaumont Police Investigators obtained a Murder warrant for Gregory Joseph Ager, a 28 year old Beaumont man.
Detectives attempted to locate Ager and made contact with him. Ager agreed to meet them at the police department. He spoke with investigators, was arrested for the Murder warrant, and transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility. His bond is $1,500,000.
