BEAUMONT, Texas — One Beaumont man is in the hospital and another is in jail following a shooting Sunday morning just after 9 a.m.
Beaumont Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Maple St.
Officers at the scene told 12News that an argument between neighbors led to Fredrick Joseph Brown, 39, pulling out a handgun and then shooting his 59-year-old neighbor.
12News was there when Brown's family brought him back to the scene of the shooting to turn himself in.
He was arrested on the spot by Beaumont Police and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
Brown is being held on a second degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his bond has been set at $50,000, according to jail records.
The wounded man was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital.
His wounds were reported to be non-life-threatening and he is expected to recover.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
