BEAUMONT, Texas — A Hardin County jury has sentenced a 22-year-old Beaumont man to a life sentence for the murder of Beaumont man while the two were driving through Lumberton on Good Friday in 2022.
Terry Antonio Johnson III, 22, of Beaumont, was sentenced on Thursday to life in prison for the shooting death of Raul Rebollar, 34, of Beaumont, after being found guilty following his trial this week in Kountze.
He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine following the trial in 356th District Court before Judge Steve Thomas.
Beaumont Police officers arrested Johnson in Beaumont a week after the fatal shooting in 2022.
Rebollar was driving an extended cab pickup truck north in the 400 block of North Main Street across the street from DuGood Federal Credit Union when the shooting happened according to file stories.
At some point, Rebollar pulled out a gun and then Johnson opened fire from the back seat, fatally wounding Rebollar, Sullins said.
Rebollar's 10-year-old and 13-year-old sons were also in the truck at the time of the shooting.
Johnson has also been charged in the Beaumont murder of Juan Salazar, that happened less than a month before he fatally shot Rebollar.
Following the search, Rebollar's 10-year-old and 13-year-old sons and a woman were arrested after according to police.
The 13-year-old boy was arrested a burglary warrant and on a murder warrant for the March 12, 2022 murder of Juan Salazar at Goliad Street and Wall Street, police said at the time..
Johnson has also been charged in connection with Salazar's murder.
The 10-year-old boy arrested on a warrant for burglary and Marina Martinez, 36, of Beaumont, was also arrested on a warrant for burglary after the search.
