BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man is in jail facing 10 child pornography charges.
Robert Pascal Taylor, 49, was arrested by Jefferson County deputies on December 22, 2022.
He has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr. previously told 12News.
Taylor is being held on the charges in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where his bond has been set at $25,000 on each charge for a total of $250,000, according to Collins.
On May 19, 2020, Beaumont Police officers assisted the Arlington Police Department in executing a search warrant of a home in Beaumont.
Taylor was interviewed by Arlington Police and then transported to the Jefferson County Jail on offenses related to the warrant, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Arlington Police also collected items of evidence and seized the evidence to be processed.
Beaumont Police were later told that upon forensic examination of the evidence, child sexual abuse material was located on electronic devices that were in the possession of Taylor at the address in Beaumont, according to the affidavit.
Copies of evidence along with supplement reports were sent to the Beaumont Police Department.
There were hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material, according to the affidavit.
If Taylor makes bond he will not be allowed to leave Jefferson County and will be required to wear an ankle monitor Collins said.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
