BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man is set to be sentenced in December for invasive visual recording of women in public in June 2023.
Larry Mayfield, Jr., is set to be sentenced before Judge Raquel West in 252nd District Court on Dec. 12, 2023, according to a court official. Mayfield was 37 when he was arrested.

Jackie Simien, a former local anchorwoman, was one of several victims in the case.
"Considering he was on probation at the time of his latest crimes, I am requesting that he receive the maximum punishment allowable by law," Simien told 12News on Thursday.
Simien currently works for BISD as director of community and media relations.
Mayfield was on probation for the same charge at the time of his arrest according to Beaumont Police.
Police called Simien and told her they had recognized her in images in his possession.
Mayfield is accused of filming intimate parts of women in public according to Beaumont Police.
Police say Mayfield visited grocery stores, retail establishments and gas stations in mid 2023 while recording intimate areas of women in public spaces.
On June 8, 2023 around 6 p.m., an off-duty Beaumont Police officer working security at Walmart was notified that a man in the store took a photo under a woman's skirt.
Mayfield was then taken into custody. Special Crimes detectives responded and began investigating.
Mayfield was interviewed at the police station and placed under arrest the same night. He later bonded out.
Police continued to investigate and on June 13, 2023, a motion to revoke Mayfield's probation was issued.
After the warrant was issued, detectives with the Special Crimes Unit and the Special Assignment Unit arrested Mayfield.
During the course of the investigation, Morrow says detectives discovered evidence of Mayfield having numerous victims.
While committing these crimes, he got extremely close to the victims and several victims noticed and spoke to him, according to police.
In October of 2020, detectives filed two cases of invasive visual recording against Mayfield and he was eventually sentenced to five years on probation.
"He filmed up women's skirts, and we were able to send that to the DA's office. He was convicted on that," Beaumont Police Officer Haley Morrow said.
