Victim speaks out, warns others after her vehicle was stolen in Beaumont

Rebeca Castro shared with 12News a video of a man with a handkerchief covering his face, picking the lock of her 2020 Nissan Rouge.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Two people wanted for burglarizing a vehicle and stealing another in Beaumont remain on the run.

Rebeca Castro recently had her dream car that she worked so hard for, stolen.

Castro shared with 12News, a video from Wednesday, January 11, 2023 of a man with a handkerchief covering his face, picking the lock of her 2020 Nissan Rouge.

Castro says there's a second person also caught on video.

"It's just kind of hard, because that was our first ever brand-new car,” said Castro.

She says that if there was something that could be done to stop it, then her and her husband would’ve done so.

A wheel lock is one tool that may help deter criminals from stealing your car.

Car alarms and dash cameras can also help stop criminals in their tracks.

Castor's car is still missing, so if you have information, you are encouraged to contact the Beaumont Police Department.

Another 12News viewer shared a video from Friday, January 6, 2023, showing a suspect breaking into their vehicle and stealing a cell phone.
