Two teens injured, mother nearly hit with stray bullets in Northridge Manor shooting

During the shooting, multiple bullets struck a nearby apartment, narrowly missing a woman who was inside with her child.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police are investigating a shooting that left two teenagers injured Friday afternoon. 

Police responded to the 4100 block of Maida Rd. at the Northridge Manor Apartments after receiving reports of a shooting.

Officers say that two cars, both occupied with multiple people, pulled up next to each other and exchanged gunfire before leaving the scene.

During the shooting, multiple bullets struck a nearby apartment, narrowly missing a woman who was inside with her child. 

Police say that a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old, later arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds. 

Both shooting victims are also believed to be involved in the incident, but they have been uncooperative and refused to file charges, according to Beaumont police. 

A deadly conduct report was filed in connection to the victims inside the apartment.
