KOUNTZE, Texas — A 92-year-old Hardin County man is out on bond after being arrested last week on multiple sexual assault of a child charges spanning several years in the early 2000s.
James Howard Turner, 92, of Kirbyville, was indicted in October 2023 on eight charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 according to the indictments.
He was arrested by deputies and released on a total $40,000 bond for all eight charges on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, according to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
The abuse began in October 2003 and continued on several occasions through September 2007 according to the indictments.
The victim, who 12News is not identifying, was a toddler when the abuse began and is now in her twenties, according to public records.
