BEAUMONT — 35-year-old Amanda Swanzy and 38-year-old Terrance Cormier, both from Beaumont, were arrested Wednesday after trying to cash a forged check at Sam's Package Store.
Investigators discovered that Sawnzy and Comier's vehicle had a computer, printers and blank checks, all which were seized as evidence.
They were both arrested for forgery and Swanzy was additionally charged with fraudulent use identifying information.
Justice of the Peace, Precinct 7, Judge Brad Burnett increased the bond on both suspects because investigation showed them to be a flight risk.
Amanda Swanzy is held at the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $105,000 and Terrance Cormier is held at the at the same jail on bonds totaling $50,030.

Two Beaumont Residents Arrested for Forgery- 4350 E. Lucas
On Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to 4350 E. Lucas (Sam's Package Store) in reference to someone attempting to cash a forged check. Investigation revealed that 35 year old Amanda Swanzy and 38 year old Terrance Cormier, both from Beaumont, were in possession of forged checks. It was also discovered that their vehicle contained a computer, printers, and blank check stock, which was all seized as evidence. Both suspects were arrested for Forgery and Swanzy was additionally charged with Fraudulent Use Identifying Information. The investigation is on-going.
