Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off Sunday with Beaumont's 4th annual Viva Hispanic Heritage Festival.

There will be plenty of activities for families including Lucha wrestling and a human claw machine.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off Sunday in downtown Beaumont with the city's 4th annual Viva Hispanic Heritage Festival.

"This is such a vibrant event that really taps into a special part of our community," said Emily Wheeler, event services director for the City of Beaumont. "People come from all over town to check out all the entertainment and just have a great time celebrating." 

There will be plenty of activities for families including Lucha wrestling and a human claw machine as well as plenty f community organizations and sponsors, according to Wheeler.

The city says the event is a favorite in the community

"It brings people into downtown to enjoy a special part of our community." Wheeler explains. "It's also a really vibrant and colorful festival. The music is a lot of fun. The dancers are amazing. You cannot beat watching Lucha wrestling."

The festival will be held downtown near city hall from 3 p.m. to 8 p,m, on Sunday and will also feature live entertainment and food trucks.

"All of the kids activities are free, so it's a really great event to just come out and enjoy the nice weather and all the entertainment," says Wheeler.
