WOODVILLE, Texas — The community is remembering longtime YMBL advocate, business owner, dad, grandfather and more, Pat A. Riley Jr.

Riley, 72, of Woodville, passed away on Saturday, June 15 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, according to the obituary. He was from Nederland, but relocated to Woodville and moved between the two throughout his life.

"I spent a lot of time with Pat. We worked together at Levingston funeral home for quite a while," said Robert Burns in a comment left on Riley's online guestbook. "I went to work at Texaco and then found out Pat started his funeral home in a old dance studio in Nederland," he said. "Pat helped so many people in their time of need."

He was in the funeral home business for over 40 years and was owner of the Pat A. Riley Funeral Home before selling it, according to his daughter Holly Hicks. The funeral home is now called Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, where he would work whenever help was needed.

Riley also owned an ambulance service as well.

"He was a great dad and grandfather," said his daughter.

Riley's services will be at First Baptist Church in Warren, Texas.

The service will be a memorial since her father donated his body to science, according to his daughter.

They are still working on a date, but the memorial service will be open to the public.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
