A child is recovering after what is described as a near-drowning in the Sabine River.
The incident happened around 3 p.m.. Saturday in an area near the Sabine River Bridge at Highway 12 near the Texas-Louisiana border in Newton County.
Specifics of the incident have not yet been released by authorities, but a witness said the child was revived at the scene and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
