Both persons of interest in deadly Easter Sunday shooting turned themselves in, police said

This marks the seventh homicide in Beaumont in 2019.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont police said two people voluntarily turned themselves in for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting Easter Sunday. 

Tristan Jackson, 23, and Donaldvan Williams, 24, are the two persons of interest Beaumont Police identified in the shooting death of 43-year-old Darrell Howard around 2 a.m. Easter morning, April 21. 

Jackson told officers he shot Howard, according to Officer Carol Riley. Jackson was arrested and charged with murder and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

Williams was released without any charges being filed, and police say they're not looking for any more suspects in the case.

This marks the seventh homicide in Beaumont in 2019.

Police recently released surveillance video of a suspect in the case. 

Howard's body was found by officers lying near the street outside E & L touch of Class in Beaumont's North End.
