BEAUMONT, Texas — As the temps begin to heat up, a Beaumont air conditioning company is stepping up to help.
And a man was awarded a brand new HVA/C system on Thursday, May 30.
The program is called Americares, started by American Air Systems, a Beaumont-based company.
Representatives from Remaxx One and the Wesley United Methodist Church joined the company in presenting Luis Colon with his new system.
"I'm glad to be the first one and I'm happy there is a program like this. There's a lot of people like me that may need it but can't get it," Colon said. "That's why we need people like that. I hope the next person is as lucky as I am."
This was the first award of a gift of this magnitude.
American Air Systems plans to install the machine in Colon's home next week.
