BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police have arrested and charged a man who they said confessed to fatally shooting a man early Easter morning.
Two people that were persons of interest in the case, Tristan Kavon Jackson, 23, of Beaumont and Donaldvan Joseph Williams, 24, of Beaumont went to the police department downtown to talk to detectives about the shooting Monday afternoon, April 22.
The shooting happened in the 3100 block of Concord Drive on Sunday, April 21 around 2 a.m., Beaumont Police said.
Jackson told officers he shot Darrell Howard, Beaumont Police Officer Carol Riley said in a news release. Both persons of interest gave statements to detectives.
Williams was released without any charges being filed, and police say they're not looking for any more suspects in the case.
Jackson was arrested and charged with murder and transported to the Jefferson County Jail, Riley said.
