A new outlook on education is set to arrive at Beaumont in the form of a new superintendent and 12News has learned more about the man chosen for the job.
Monday night the BISD board of managers unanimously chose Dr. John Frossard as the lone finalist, he's currently superintendent at Wichita Falls ISD.
Trey Sralla, Wichita Falls ISD school board president, said he's confident Frossard can turn things around in Beaumont, like he did in North Texas.
"He came in with a plan, he's executed that plan and he's wowed us all, he really came in and hit the ground running," Sralla said.
However, he said the district will be sad to see him go.
"Bittersweet," Sralla said. "I'm happy for him with his opportunity there, I sure hate to see him go because he's been wonderful in Wichita Falls."
Frossard's Wichita Falls achievements included hiring new administrators and financially revamping the district. Skills Sralla said Frossard picked up from his experience.
He's served as superintendent in three public school districts, has worked in districts with more than 70,000 students and he's served as the first principal of four new high schools.
Frossard also holds a doctor of education degree in school administration.
BISD won't officially sign a deal with Frossard until after the 21-day grace period ends, but Sralla has a message for the Beaumont community.
"If the people of Beaumont want somebody good for their schools, get out of the way and let the guy run because he's as good as they come," he said.
BISD's board of managers president Jimmy Simmons said the board and Frossard are currently negotiating a contract, that will not have automatic pay raises included. Frossard currently earns $198,000 dollars as Wichita Falls ISD superintendent.
