Houston-area bars have licenses suspended for violating COVID-19 shutdown order

The Jailhouse Saloon in Spring is one of the bars in the doghouse for violating Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's order to close down.

HOUSTON — The TABC has suspended the licenses of six Houston-area bars for violating the shutdown order.

The bars were caught violating Gov. Greg Abbott's order over the weekend, according to the TABC

Their liquor licenses were suspended for 30 days.

  • Jailhouse Saloon in Spring
  • Stetsons Nightlife in Humble
  • Down on Main Street in Baytown
  • This Bar in Crosby
  • Lazy H in Liberty
  • Squeeze’s in Beaumont

Other bars that weren't cited opened in protest over the weekend in what they called Freedom Fest 2020.
