BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont church is hoping to bless Southeast Texas families in need by handing out hundreds of frozen turkeys Saturday.
Redemption Church, located at 601 Park St., is holding it's 5th Annual Turkey Day Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The church plans to hand out 500 free frozen turkeys. The giveaway will be held as a drive-thru and one turkey per family will be given.

"It's an opportunity for us to be able to give back to our community," Pastor Byron Ellis, lead pastor of Redemption, previously told 12News.
Last year, members of the church told 12News they wanted to help the Southeast Texas community amid increasing food costs. One of the goals of the event was to put happiness back into holidays.
"People shouldn’t be worried about feeding their family on thanksgiving, so we want to be able to be a blessing and give back," Pastor Ellis said.
Pastor Ellis said God is the most generous giver, so the desire for them to serve the community comes from him.
"The desire to be able to give back and to help serve our city and to feed families, that desire comes from the Lord Jesus," he said. "God is the most generous that there is. So if we want to be like Jesus, we're most like Jesus when we give."
Redemption Church offers service on Sundays at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
