Southeast Texas goes hunting for Big Foot in hilarious new Facebook group

Cutout of Darryl the Sasquatch seen in Bridge City, Orange

ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — Have you seen Darryl?

Darryl is 5 feet tall, brown, kind of flat, a little rigid, very quiet and has been spotted lurking all over Southeast Texas.

Oh, and Darryl also goes by the name Big Foot.

A new Facebook group has more than a thousand people looking for the Sasquatch wannabe.

The group is the brainchild of Kelly McLemore of Bridge City. She created the group on June 14 for some good, clean family fun.

Darryl has been spotted at several businesses in Bridge City, Vidor and Orange including Sherman Williams, Fresh Prep, RE/MAX and even the Bridge City Police Department.

Owners and managers can request Darryl to hide out at their business. And if you find Darryl and add a photo to the Facebook page, you can receive a discount at Donna's Yard Decor. You can even win a Big Foot shirt if you add 10 people to the Facebook group.

This is the latest Facebook group to launch a scavenger hunt for families dealing with being quarantined since the coronavirus pandemic.

In March, teddy bears started popping up in living room and bedroom windows. Families out on daily walks would go on a 'teddy bear hunt' to find the bears.

And in April, a flock of rubber duckies escaped the bathtub and took over parts of the Nederland. It was part of a new game to help keep kids entertained and spread a little cheer during the pandemic.
