BEAUMONT, Texas — With a tasty event that people of all ages can enjoy, the Mardi Gras festivities in Southeast Texas aren't set to end on February 19.
Mardi Gras signals the end of the pre-Lenten season for some, with Fat Tuesday being the final time some Southeast Texans will be able to indulge in certain foods before the Lenten season begins.
Residents have a chance to let loose on Fat Tuesday at Southeast Texas' “largest foodie fundraiser event of the year,” the 41st annual Taste of the Triangle. The event takes place February 21, 2023 at the Beaumont Civic Center.
Attendees will have the chance to try food from at least 40 area restaurants and food trucks throughout Southeast Texas.
“From appetizers to desserts, Taste of the Triangle gives you the chance to sample numerous dishes from all over our area,” organizers said in a release.
The event is hosted by the Sabine Area Restaurant Association and acts as a fundraiser to support many area charities,
“The Taste of the Triangle dates back to the 1950s when local restaurants and vendors wanted to get an organization together and this is their annual fundraiser,” Lauren Bebeau said. “So funds from the taste of the triangle go to help Lamar culinary students.”
