BEAUMONT, Texas — The Junior League of Beaumont kicked off it's holiday fundraising season with a four course luncheon to begin the Main Street Market event.
Dozens of people attended the event to support the langiappe luncheon.
Langiappe is a Cajun word meaning, 'a little bit extra.' Those who attended received a little 'extra' in the form of a four course meal.
The lunch included holiday food and drink pairings along with recipes, so they can replicate the recipes for their own holiday party.
This luncheon serves as the official kick-off to the Junior League's 'Main Street Market' shopping event.
The three day holiday shopping extravaganza takes place November 30 through December 2, 2023.
The Main Street Market features unique merchandise from more than 100 vendors from Texas as well as across the country.
AT the market, you'll be able to shop for clothing, gourmet foods, children’s items, jewelry and more. There will also be live entertainment for you to listen to as you shop.
The Main Street Market hours on November 30 are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The hours on December 1 are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
On December 2 the market will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Main Street Market is the Junior League's annual fundraiser. All proceeds support their work throughout the community through projects, community assistance funds and scholarships.
