BEAUMONT, Texas — Whiskey enthusiasts got the chance to try different brands all while supporting a great cause at the Beaumont Civic Center on Saturday.
At the 2nd Annual Whiskey Fest the glasses were pouring as different vendors and people poured into the Civic Center, all talking and tasting some of their favorite kinds of whiskey.
This isn't the only reason people gathered. The General Manager of Whiskey Fest Michael Wright says the turnout has been wonderful so far.
“It's surreal you know what I mean? This is what we would have envisioned maybe five years into it, but for this to be year two. And for us to have this kind of response from the community.. it's just unbelievable," he said.
They are taking all of the community support and sending it to a good cause. All proceeds will benefit Cure Rare Disease in their research efforts.
“We have a number of researchers we work with in the United States, Canada, as well as Western Europe are all developing therapeutics that will help treat some of the rarest, and devastating conditions known to man," Said CEO Rich Horgan.
The proceeds from the gala and ticket sales of Saturday's event are going to directly help develop therapies for illnesses.
