BEAUMONT, Texas — Za'Niya Miles, aka Niya, is a morning producer for Daybreak at 12News specializing in general news.
She joined the team in September 2024.
Miles previously worked for National Public Radio in Los Angles after earning her degree.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Texas Southern University in Houston where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2022.
Miles grew up in Benton Harbor, MI, before coming to Texas for college.
While in Los Angeles Miles was an intern with "HBCU in LA" which provides student leaders from historically black colleges and universities an internship geared toward launching a career in Hollywood.
Miles is a member of the NAACP, NABJ, HABJ and the Hollywood Radio & Television Society. Her dream job is to some day be a late night talk show host.
In her spare time, she loves to paint and draw, listen to true crime podcasts, shop, and watch reality TV and horror movies. Her favorite color is pink.
