BEAUMONT, Texas — Kyle Orr is a reporter at 12News in Beaumont, Tx, specializing in general assignment reporting.
He joined 12News in August 2023.
Orr grew up in Crosby, Texas, where he graduated from high school before attending Lone Star College for several years.
He then enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he served as a crewman and crew chief on an "assault amphibious vehicle", known to Marines as an "Amtrac," from 2011 - 2015.
Orr also spent more than eight years working in the restaurant industry as a server, bartender and manager.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2019 and a bachelor of arts degree in media arts in the spring of 2023.
While at UNT he worked at the student run TV station, North Texas Television, as reporter, producer and anchor and covered stories in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
When he's not reporting for 12News Orr enjoys watching sports and follows the Texans, Astros, Dallas Stars as well as the UFC.
He also enjoys practicing martial arts, playing video games and traveling.
