BEAUMONT, Texas — Kaitlin "Kait" Griffin is the assistant news director at 12News in Beaumont, Tx.
Griffin became assistant news director in March 2024 after spending a couple years in Dallas at NBC-owned KXAS where she worked as a producer.
The Emmy-award winning journalist also worked as a producer at 12News from 2020 - 2022.
While at 12News previously she led the nightside shift as the 6 and 10 p.m. producer. She also produced several special projects during her tenure.
Griffin was raised in Corsicana, Texas on the edge of the "Pine Curtain" and graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in Journalism in 2019.
She is a seventh generation Texan, and a proud state park pass holder, who spends her weekends hiking and kayaking throughout the state. Griffin also enjoys the arts and finding the best mom and pop places to eat!
Her three cats, twins: Ezra and Zelda, and their brat sister Zora, were all rescued in Southeast Texas. They're also excited to once again enjoy Southeast Texas hospitality.
