Overturned 18-wheeler along U.S. 69 south snarls traffic Wednesday morning

12News has received no reports of injuries at this time.

BEAUMONT, Texas — An overturned 18-wheeler carrying a load of sawdust flipped along the side of U.S. Highway 69 southbound early Wednesday morning backing up the morning commute into Beaumont.

Beaumont police and firefighters responded to the wreck at about 6:30 a.m.

The wreck happened at the base of the 11th Street exit flyover is backing up traffic in the area.

The truck is on its side just off of the highway and appeared to be the only vehicle involved in the wreck.

It appeared that the truck left the roadway a little north of the flyover and came to rest on the embankment of the ramp to the flyover.

Traffic will be closed down to one lane for several hours while the wreck is cleaned up and removed according to a Facebook post from the Beaumont Fire Department.
